i have a few allergies that have gotten worse with age. if i am in the same room with heavy perfume, i get a migraine almost instantly. there’s nothing i can do about it b/c people like perfume. i like perfume. i love the way it smells and i used to use it. my all time favorite was beautiful by estee lauder.
due to this problem of mine, i make my own perfume, nothing fancy just lavender oil mixed with distilled water. i get a lot of compliments on it, and one request to make some for pay.
recently while listening to the superduper cool dudes on “stuff you should know” podcast, mr. charles bryant mentioned his wife has a store where she makes natural lotions and potions.
i looked her up and ordered the sample pack. i love sample packs. it’s like a pu pu platter at an asian restaurant.
so far, my favorite is the exhilarating lotion/soap/scrub. it’s a great variety of smells that don’t hit you all at once, but individually at separate times. somehow. i have no idea how it works but i love it.
i love all of the products and it delights me to take a shower b/c i know i get to use this super cool stuff in the shower and then the lotion after the shower.
if you are like me and want to stab folks that use too much perfume b/c you know you are doomed to a migraine, check out love your mama b/c i said so.

Ohhh, I love me some lotions and potions. And Beautiful is the only perfume I ever wore. How kewl is that!
I will definitely order the sample pack, but your concoction sounds lovely also.
But I don’t like it when men smell too nice. How about you?

I rarely wear the perfume in my cabinet because I know it distresses some folks. Once in a while I sneak and wear it anyway. Maybe I’ll try the sample.

P.S. I’ll need you to stop posting about anything that costs money. I have spent one billion dollars on dogs in the past year, mostly in the past month. I have no discretionary income. Please don’t feed my sickness.

I get instant headaches from some scents, too. It makes me crazy that people have to our the stuff all over them. Once a client sprayed me with her perfume, it was super flowery and the situation was such that I couldn’t get home to wash it off. It just made me sick. She vowed to never do that again.
I wear one scent, 2 Man by Comme de Garcons. It’s dry and sexy and smells delicious. I used to wear Vetiver by Gurelain, but it loses its body after an hour or so.

The last thing I was doing just seconds before I read your post was having a discussion with someone in the office about overpowering and nauseating perfumey smells. Psychic or what?

I like “moonlight path” by bath and body works, it has lavender and bergamot in it.

lou: you have such excellent taste
i can just tell these things you know. i like when smell nice but most men’s colognes make me sick, i like their natural smell
lola: you are very thoughtful. a little dab’ll do ya! point taken no more posts about thing that cost money. wouldn’t it be a fun gag to write about thing i like but act like i don’t like them? like opposite day.
scott: ya know i’ll have go smell those so i can know how you smell in the real life. i would be willing to bet that anything you wear is elegant like you.
xup: this is getting scary between the two of us. it’s a very common aquarian thing in the person but i reckon it can happen over the internet too. seriously, i will be thinking about one of my aquarian friends that i haven’t seen or talked to and will either run into them or they’ll call me.
cheree: i like your moonlight path, and i don’t think it made me sick. i really, really like bergomot. it’s very versatile.

You should make your perfume and sell it on Etsy.
