we ate dinner at wendy’s tonight per my son’s request. i picked him up from gymnastics camp today and he declared he was starving and HAD to buy a snack there. i told him no b/c we have plenty o’ snacks at home.
ten minutes later at home, i cleaned out his lunch box and understood why he was starving, he barely ate anything in the lunch box. (yet, he’s the one who instructed me very carefully what to put in that lunchbox.)
at dinner he asked, “mom why are french fries bad for you”?
me: “i think it is due to the oil they are fried in, trans fats. although, i believe that the trans fats frying ingredients have been removed from most public restaurants.”
him: “maybe i should go ask”.
me: “i think that is a good idea.”
he walks up to the counter, it takes a minute for anyone to see him due to him being six and short. he came back to the table and pronounced that they use corn and soy oils. we praised him for the confidence to go up and ask.
right after that, he said “after the guy told me the answer he told me that i made his day”.
i like when people are good to kids.
mostly i am proud of my son for having the confidence to ask such an important question, and to effect another human being in a positive way.

Would you sell him to me? Luke I mean. I need something just like him.
As for the other blog… I’m sitting here bawling my eyes out.
The thing with the birthday cards, a few posts back. That got to me the most.
