john lennon hippie stuff

i recently watched another john lennon special on vh1. every time i think about what happened to him, i get really angry.

sometimes, just even hearing his songs on the radio is enough to piss me off enough to punch a total stranger in the neck. i realize that wouldn’t be very “john lennon” of me.

the thing is, i don’t think john would be angry about what chapman did, i think he’d be sad for him. (yeah, i’m totally going to talk about him like i knew him.)

my thought is that he’d be like he typically was when strange homeless people were found in his gardens. he would ask them if they were hungry, and try to explain that he was a songwriter and not sending private mental messages via the planet saturn to this exact person who happened to just be walking around in his garden.

the man that killed him, had gotten john’s autograph earlier in the day (obviously before he killed him).

chapman said that john asked if he was ok, and chapman said yes, he was ok. john asked him again. i’m sure he didn’t know this would be the man that would end his life just hours later, or maybe he did feel a connection not knowing what it was exactly which is why he asked chapman how he was two times.

my favorite part of this show was the period when john left his career after his youngest son was born. he stopped his mega career to be a dad to his second son. i’m not sure that is what dad’s did in that time period. it’s become much more acceptable these days.

i believe that much of what john did made a big dent in the world. (scoff if you will, scoffers be damned!)

20 years later, people still know who he is and what he was about. his message was one of love and i firmly believe that much of what is wrong in the world, and can be traced back to people not loving themselves. THAT is a leftover from those old government pamphlets claiming that you should not tell your kids that you love them, or show affection for them.

it’s unfortunate that we kill our prophets and saints, and that people “get on board” with the message after someone such as that dies.

for a completely random fact, my birth father favors john lennon in appearance and whenever i see lennon i see my birth father, who coincidently has the same first name but no other similarities outside of looks and name.

Happy Birthday One Wink

i lurve this woman and think she’s swell, and i bet you would too.

oddly, we were loosely “connected” through the peevery but we “met” on a totally different blog, grampa’s house.

i don’t know what they call that where you live, but ’round here it’s called fate.

ya’ll go over there and wish her a happy birthday today!

the enchanted flute

as a lovely girl plays her enchanted flute, the silvery notes cause fairytale cities to rise from the flowers. joyful children sail forth to a world of adventure in a boat drawn by magical butterflies, and a whole universe of hopes and dreams pours forth to fill the air. as with the young girl, within the spirit of eace one of us are treasured hopes and dreams just waiting to be carried into the universe on the wings of magical butterflies. may your dreams be lifted in butterfly wings!
