the husband lives

February 15, 2008

thanks to all who inquired about my husband’s test yesterday, “all ya’ll” are awesome. all came out well, there wasn’t a tumor or anything whackadoo in there, they were able to expand his throat a little while they were in to help with the choking.

he ate steak last night, and no choking. steak is usually the number one offender with his choking.

as for me, i feel like dookie. i think i have a cold/flu type thing altho i refuse to name it in case it tries to stay over longer than i’d like it too.

it was fun to see him drugged up right after the procedure, the doctor came in to tell us the prognosis and husband fell asleep while the doctor was talking. usually the husband is much too polite to do that under ordinary circumstances.

after the doctor left, the nurse came in and told me i had to keep him awake.

so i started talking to him. he told me he’d wanted to ask the doctor if he’d used the bing machine.

i was rubbing and massaging his hand to keep him awake. he said, “i could think of something else for you to rub to keep me awake”. i laughed, and wondered if he was channeling my dead dad. that was something my dad would have totally said to my mom. in fact, on his death bed he requested that they “fool around”. true story.

after i got the husband home he fell fast asleep due to the drugs they gave him so he wouldn’t remember having a rod stuck down his throat. he’s very sensitive to drugs, tylenol could probably put him to sleep.

me on the other hand had to do stuff. fold clothes, feed animals, pick up son, take son to gymnastics, get food, help cook, blah blah blah. i fell asleep at 9pm, and basically slept through the night.

today there will be more sleeping so i can work up the strength to go and see the spiderwick chronicles tonight.

that is all.
