bits and savings

September 25, 2007

my son asked me the other day if dogs could only see in black and white, what do they see when they see a black and white dog?

that sentence alone tells me he’s a thinker. in fact, i had to think of how i’d answer him.

i said, “well maybe it’s invisible and they can just smell the other dog”. then i said, “no, they just see the same black and white.”

=========================================================

amazon just emailed me to let me know that MY ORDER SHIPPED TODAY!!!!!!!!! what order is that you ask?

why it’s the book look me in the eye” by john robison! and guess what else? i saved an additional $1.56 with amazon’s pre-order price guarantee. YOU JUST CAN’T BEAT THAT! (if you pre-ordered it too then you are also $1.56 richer! i’m going to spend all that money on gum, what about you?)

john writes about his life with aspergers which is a form of autism.

i can hardly wait for it to get here. i haven’t been this excited since i don’t know when. yesterday when i ran all those errands i’d been saving up for weeks. actually, i am MORE excited to read john’s book.

why you ask? b/c i love real life stories of people who rise above their humble beginnings and share their stories of survival and success. must be my irish roots. to rise out of the ashes like a phoenix.

i like the sharing thing b/c it lets other people out their know that they can make it out alive too. as children we didn’t have much choice in the matter, as adults we can find each other and collectively become a part of each other’s healing.

yeah i said it.
