i do not miss the old mindless chatter of “so how was your weekend?” from my cubicle farming days. i would try to come up with new and exciting responses b/c i get bored easily. but mostly i just went with “fine” or a “growl” if i was in the mood.
i’m going to tell you about my weekend. it wasn’t exciting but i completed a lot of projects that have collectively been lying around our home causing our home to look “messy and junked up.” i used to have a problem with clutter up until about 11 years ago. i was a messy cluttered person that changed into a neat and organized person. then i got in the family way and my god that was a shock to me. me personally, i am not a junky person. no sir. but the family people? I CANNOT SAY THE SAME.
i transformed my junky habits once i began to clear out those spaces in my head. an added bonus to clearing out my head, was that it transformed down to my physical surroundings.
i love throwing things away. clutter to this very day can bring me to my mentally ill knees. it is my kryptonite. it produces serious anxiety inside of me and i’d love for that to be different but it’s not. i’m not talking “typical” clutter that comes from a living space.
i have to whisper this so come closer, “i’m talking hoarding type things”.
i can totally diagnose your mental illness (FOR FREE!) just by coming to your living spaces. and i promise, i won’t post it on my blog unless you want me to. just let me know.
mental illness isn’t taboo anymore.
in fact, it’s cool. it’s “THE NEW GAY!”
on to the business of my weekend:
- i completed another shoe/hat/coat/book bag rack that my son can easily reach. i grew weary of chasing down shoes in the mad rush to get to the bus stop in the mornings. and that door? used to have a coat rack hanging from it which barely allowed the door to fully open. it was clogging up the energy flow. now it is a clear space and the door opens all the way!
- i began re-designing our tupperware space about a month ago and had to end it early, so i put the remaining tupperware in a big blue bucket, which has been in the kitchen for about a month. another energy flow clogger. (i failed to take a photo of the actual bucket filled with tupperware and i refuse to recreate it.) take my word for it that it was hogging up the space. i completed that tupperware job and the big blue bucket is gone!
- i bought some really pretty orange curtains for like 5 dollars a long time ago. i’ve wanted to hang them for a long time, finally did it. i mainly put them there b/c grease and smoke from the stove dirty up those windows and it’s a bitch to clean. i figured the curtains would help absorb most of it and i can just put them in the wash.
- by rearranging the plastics i had to rearrange the glass dishes, the kids’ cabinet and extra appliances like the juicer and blender. you know how it trickles down. i cleared up a lot of space in the kitchen and the energy and now freely flow throughout the kitchen. you really want free flowing energy in the kitchen. and by the doors.
- magical came down this weekend and brought her son and dog. both of whom i love very much. by bringing the dog and child, it allowed me time to complete tasks that needed completing. there was a lot of this going on:
- whilst getting all that crap rearranged, i washed clothes and ACTUALLY FOLDED THEM!, vacuumed and cleaned the floors, emptied trash, made lunches/arranged dinners, made the bed, cleaned the bird cage, did dishes, wiped counters, sprayed smelly stuff and painted my nails. clear, of course.
i am in a tidy, freely flowing energy heaven.
how was YOUR weekend?
