trying to make a good first impression

June 6, 2007

i found a new nursery yesterday. i’d passed by it before and was over that way yesterday and stopped in to check it out.

since i was solo, i had the ipod on and the tunes cranked. i got out and booped the truck and went to looking at the pretties.

shortly after, a woman walks up to me so i take off the earphone while ozzy croons out “mr. crowley”. instead of booping my truck i set off the alarm, which was as you might gather at a peaceful nursery, was QUITE A NUISANCE.

i was just a little more than embarrassed, seeing as how i was at a new nursery and wanted to be on my best behavior. no one yelled at me, i got a couple of glances but no major harm done.

i love this nursery. they have all kinds of new and different stuff that i haven’t seen at nurseries elsewhere. that’s always a good thing for me, new and different.

as i was checking out and making “small talk” of course i had to mention my former nursery. the women said she’d had four people tell her about him recently and how mean he was. i explained to her that just walking around all the plants and flowers it just felt better there than at the other place. (there was always this weird nazi feeling at my other nursery.) i apologized to her again for the panic alarm and promised i’d never do that again.

and dave, before you say it yes, my music was on WAY TOO LOUD.
