got tagged by a neat lady

iced mocha tagged me for a meme about “getting goals“. i haven’t been reading her blog for long, but i really enjoy it. it’s light and easy yet packed with lots of wisdom. i don’t know her in “real” life but her blog persona reminds me of the type of people that i try and surround myself with. salt of the earth, authentic, wise, human and loving. i’m honored that she is a reader.

this blog is from whence it originated. this blog is the one that tagged iced mocha.

the originating blog lists the rules. but i don’t understand them. rules have a tendency to not always make sense to me. especially if they are very simple rules. (i am a good rule follower, and downright obedient if you can help me to understand the rules.)

(after being awarded the coveted “thinking blogger award”, i discovered that there is an evil underbelly to doing “meme’s”. i just need to tell you people that i do not have an evil underbelly. i do meme’s for fun. i get to meet new people, learn new stuff and just basically broaden my horizons.)

for the record, i’ll never explain ever again why i do meme’s.

my goals listed for your consumption:

  • to somehow figure out the formula for eating lots of chocolate without the following side effects: no weight gain, pimplies, the crazies from the chemical reaction of sugar hitting my bloodstream.
  • to be a good person, a good mom, wife, friend, sister, daughter, neighbor, crazy lady.
  • to be a useful member of society.
  • to never, never, ever, be a person that is dishonest. (not talking “cash register” honesty here folks, but deep down lying to myself honesty). feel free to due your part and keep me straight on this. (because ya’ll know how we lie to ourselves and then actually believe our lies. sad but true.)
  • to always have the desire to stay sober and to keep on peeling that onion.
  • to continue doing my part to make the world a better place for (all) children.
  • write a book.
  • write another book.
  • and another book (i have some things to say.)
  • visit ireland and roll around in the green, green, green grass with the sheeps, snakes and bugs.
  • build onto our already existing deck in the back yard, by myself using library books and the internet.
  • to demonstrate the qualities, wisdom, morals, and love for all creatures big and small that my dad did when he was alive. the world needs to know who he was.
  • to always be physically able to throw balls, catch balls, and any physical activity with my kids and their kids or any kids.
  • to always strive to live my life like the gandhi quote: “be the change you want to see in the world.”
  • to try and not take myself TOO SERIOUSLY. props to cheree (aka boo-hag) for having to pop me upside the head (literally and figuratively) for many years just when i needed it.

Thanks for your kind words. You’re very sweet.

I like your list of goals very much, and hope that you will achieve them all. I especially hope that one day I’ll have a chance to read your many books.
