i’ve been trying to really listen to my family lately. these are some of the things they’ve been saying.
==================================
the kids were playing upstairs this week and i was downstairs at my perch.
i overheard my daughter saying (very calmly) to my son:
“i’m sorry i want to kill you whenever you do this.”
==================================
my son’s response when i asked him what he wanted for lunch:
“i want what the king used to eat”. (peanut butter and banana sandwich)
==================================
the day before, my mom and son were talking:
my mom to luke, “do you like peanut butter and banana sandwiches?” luke replied, “i don’t like that much anymore, i think my taste buds have changed.”
==================================
my husband on a business call:
“meaning, for the most part you want to be fully baked.”
“i would be more inclined to not do it every night but on off hours times. those automated processes kind of take care of themselves.”
“yes, we’re in sync. i won’t do it unless i hear from you. it causes chaos.”
“cool.”
“well, then uh it sounds like we’re in good shape.”
==================================
i picked luke up from tmim’s house from a playdate. i asked him if he had a good time. he responded: “apparently so.”
obviously it was apparent to me or i would not have asked.
==================================
luke’s comment about mcdonald’s fries:
“these fry cooks are the best in the world.”
